Breast feeding vs bottle feeding
Feeding human babies and infants formula milk fits the current fast, easy food culture bottle feeding isn't fast or easy, but we are led to believe it is. As adults we eat prepacked, precooked meals, fast food, highly processed food that no longer looks like its natural, raw ingredients.
We take wholesome fresh fruit, vegetables and grains and change them into unhealthy, overprocessed, nutrient-deficient products. We deny ourselves real food. We do the same for our babies who are formula fed. We have changed the product and in the process increased the environmental and health impacts. Infant formula requires primary, secondary and tertiary packaging. It requires packaging in large lots to get to the retail outlet and it requires smaller lot packaging to reach the consumer. Once in the home it requires packaging to deliver it to the end-user.
